Big changes coming!

Greetings everybody! It's been a few years since I started this site, and a lot has changed in my life. I'm pretty dang busy nowadays and there's so MUCH trans-related news out there that I just can't keep up anymore. As has, perhaps, been obvious seeing as how I've not posted any new stories in months! Anyway, from what y'all have told me the most useful used part of the site is the directory, and I want to assure you that it's still good and being actively maintained. In fact, I am currently working on a spiffy new rebuild of Dress-Me-Up that will make the directory a bajillion times better! It's very rough right now, only half-functional and not pretty at all, but if you're interested in checking out the new construction you're welcome to visit:http://goddesscherie.com/cdresources (http://goddesscherie.com/cdresources)-Lady Erisiana Cherie, founder and webmistress, Dress-Me-Up.com

Tampa City Council passes transgender inclusion

The Tampa City Council voted last week to include transgendered people in the list of groups it's illegal to discriminate against. Woohoo! The preliminary vote, held earlier this month, aroused little attention. But the final vote drew the notice of organized religiously-based opponenets of the measure, and council members were reportedly deluged with messages both for and against. I hope some of your messages were among them! For more on this story see the TampaBay.com article here (http://www.tampabay.com/news/localgovernment/tampa-city-council-passes-antidiscrimination-rules-for-transgender-people/1052886)

URGENT - Tampa City Council needs to hear from you!

URGENT: Tampa City Council Needs to Hear From You!On November 19th the Tampa City Council will vote on whether to ban gender-based discrimination by adding gender identity and expression to the Tampa Human Rights Ordinance.Last week the council voted 7-0 to approve the measure and send it to a final vote. Since then, an anti-LGBT group has asked its members to bombard the City Council with distortions and outright lies about what this measure would do.We must speak up NOW for equality! Please take a moment right now to send the Tampa City Council a thank you note.SPEAK UP!Send a thank you letter (http://ga4.org/campaign/tampaHRO)Let your city council that you are standing with them as they strengthen Tampa's human rights ordinance. We've provided a quick template that you can personalize and deliver with the click of a button (http://ga4.org/campaign/tampaHRO).We cannot let the anti-equality voices go unanswered. Your city council needs your support to ensure that Tampa protects all of its citizens.Despite the hysteria of those who oppose equality, this amendment will provide long overdue protections for transgender employees and those who don't fit gender stereotypes. The majority of Fortune 500 companies, state governments and local municipalities across Florida have these policies in place. Major businesses have stepped forward to deliver the message to the city council that protecting people from gender-based discrimination is not only the right thing to do, it's the smart thing to do.For cities and companies, these policies send a positive message that employees will be judged on merit not by prejudice. Please take a moment right now to send the Tampa City Council a thank you note (http://ga4.org/campaign/tampaHRO)
